PURPOSE: An organic electroluminescence device is provided to achieve improved electron injection performance by permitting the display area to contain a nitrogen-doped diamond-like carbon. CONSTITUTION: An organic electroluminescence device comprises an anode electrode(21) formed on a transparent substrate(20); a hole injection/hole transporting layer(23) formed on the anode electrode; an organic light emitting layer(25) formed on the hole injection/hole transporting layer; an electron transporting layer(27) formed on the organic light emitting layer; an electron injection layer(29) formed on the electron transporting layer; and a cathode electrode(121) made of a nitrogen-doped diamond-like carbon and formed on the electron injection layer.
