PURPOSE: A frequency conversion repeater system without a reference frequency generator in a remote repeater and a method therefor are provided to form a local oscillating signal from a high frequency component in the remote repeater, and to perform a frequency conversion, thereby according reference frequencies of a main repeater and the remote repeater. CONSTITUTION: The first transceiver(41) receives a forward signal, and transmits a reverse signal to a main repeater(40). The first temporary storage(42a) temporarily stores the forward signal. A distributor(43) extracts a distributed signal from the forward signal. A filter amplifier(46) generates and amplifies a local oscillating signal. A forward frequency converter(44) performs a frequency conversion in order that the forward signal has the first frequency. The second temporary storage(42b) temporarily stores the forward signal. The third temporary storage(42c) temporarily stores a reverse signal having the first frequency. A reverse frequency converter(46) converts the frequency of the reverse signal into the second frequency. The fourth temporary storage(42d) temporarily stores the reverse signal. A power supplier(47) suppliers power.
