PURPOSE: An organic electroluminescence device is provided to reduce the thickness of the device by forming one or more protective films on the upper portion of the device, while simplifying processes and achieving improved yield rate. CONSTITUTION: An organic electroluminescence device comprises an anode electrode(21) formed on a substrate(20); an organic layer(24) formed on the anode electrode; a cathode electrode(25) formed on the organic layer; an insulating layer(22) covering the organic layer; barrier ribs(23) formed on the insulating layer; a buffer layer covering the anode electrode, insulating electrode, barrier ribs, organic layer and the cathode electrode; a moisture absorbing layer formed on the buffer layer, and which absorbs moisture and oxygen; and a protective film formed on the moisture absorbing layer so as to protect the device.
