A device (1) for protecting an ear (2) of a subject (3) from auricular haematoma comprises a pad type inner member (5) of resilient material for locating behind the ear (2) and between the ear (2) and the skulll (7) of a subject for cushioning the ear (2) against the skull (7). A pacth type first outer member (8) of film material is provided for placing over the ear (2) a nd for securing to the skull (7) and an adjacent side (9) of the face (10) of t he subject for retaining the ear (2) and the inner member (5) sandwiched betwee n the skull (7) and the first outer member (8). A second outer member (12) als o of resilient material is provided for locating between the first outer membe r (8) and the ear (2) for cushioning and protecting the ear against an impact. First and second major surfaces (22, 23) of the inner member (5) are provide d with adhesive coatings (25, 26) for bonding to the skull (7) and ear (2) of the subject, while a first major surface (50) of the second outer member (12 ) is provided with an adhesive coating (52) for bonding the second outer membe r (12) to the ear (2) of the subject. A first major surface (40) of the first outer member (8) is also provided with an adhesive coating (42) for bonding the first outer member (8) to the second outer member (12) as well a to the ear (2), the skull (7) and the side (9) of the face (10) of the subject.</SD OAB>
