APPARATUS FOR DETECTING SERVICE IMPOSSIBLE SWITCH IN NMS AND METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting a service impossible switch in an NMS(Network Management System) and a method therefor are provided to judge whether fault is generated in all duplicated ports of an up-stream port when the fault is generated in the up-stream port of a communication network switch and detect the service impossible switch. CONSTITUTION: A fault port retrieving unit(10) retrieves a port of a fault state from a port fault information database(70). An up-stream port retrieving unit(20) retrieves whether the fault port is an up-stream port from a port facilities information database(80). An up-stream port duplication retrieving unit(30) retrieves whether the up-stream port is a duplicated port from the port facilities information database(80). A duplication up-stream port retrieving unit(40) retrieves a duplication port of the up-stream from the port facilities information database(80). A duplication up-stream port fault retrieving unit(50) retrieves whether fault is generated in the duplication port of the up-stream port from the port facilities information database(80). If the fault is generated in two duplication ports, a service impossible switch display unit(60) discriminates the duplication ports as a service impossible switch and displays the discriminated service impossible switch. If the fault is generated in all duplication ports, the control unit(90) controls the service impossible switch display unit(60).
