The communication arrangement comprises; Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) controlled by an island Base Station Controller (BSC); a Mobile Switching Center (MSC); and an island Visitor Location Register (VLR). A mobile communication device asks the MSC for location updating on entering an island cell, and the VLR records a mobile station integrated services digital network (MSISDN) of the device on completion of location updating. - The MSC provides a special service e.g. short message service (SMS), multimedia message service, to the mobile communication device by reading the MSISDNs recorded in the island VLR. |
