The invention is related to a system to measure and determine of the elastic characteristics of a limb in order to design an anatomic shoe or a prosthesis embossing for an amputee patient. The system is based on the use of a rigid and airproof reservoir open on the top, in which the foot or limb is introduced, connecting the two in order to pressurize the reservoir. An external pump increases the pressure within the container till an established value, being pressure controlled by a sensor. Then, through a laser interferometer, the exact shape of the articular extremity is detected; gradually lowering the reservoir pressure by a finite quantity, the limb shape measure is repeated till atmospheric pressure. In such a way the are elastic characteristics determined of the human tissue, in order to design an optimal embossing, able to exert in every place the right pressure, to be shaped on a limb dummy produced through N.C. machinery. Once obtained the data, they will be recorded on an ad hoc informatic support and utilised to produce what required. |
