Analyzing apparatus capable of obtaining an image of an appropriate contrast even from that portion of an analyzed optical disc which is to be analyzed. During obtaining an image of an analyzed object (111), control means (210) feeds, back to an APC circuit (115) which controls a laser drive circuit (116), output signals of an integrating circuit (209) by controlling a switch (208) in such a manner that the average value of detection signals of laser beams irradiated to the analyzed optical disc and reflected thereby or passing therethrough becomes a fixed value.
