PROCESS FOR PRODUCING GRANULATED PAPERMAKER'S ALUM

The invention relates to a process for producing the granulated papermaker's alum through direct contact between the diluted sulphuric acid and aluminium hydroxide, at a solid : liquid mass ratio of 0.8...1.5 : 1, by feeding the reagents in forward flow so as to maintain the sulphuric acid concentration at a value ranging from 58 to 65 %. The mass ratio between the resulting papermaker's alum smelt and the fractions used as crystal germs is of 1...1, 5 : 10.
