摘要 <p>An insect acetylcholine esterase (I) with a central catalytic region (A) that is (i) a 524 amino acid (aa) sequence (SEQ ID No:1), given in the specification, or (ii) a sequence 60 % identical or 70 % similar to SEQ ID No:1, is new, where the enzyme of sequence NCBI AAK 0973 is excluded. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) peptide (II) that is a fragment of (I) with at least 7 aa; (2) isolated nucleic acid (III) that (i) encodes (I); (ii) is the sense or antisense complement of (i), or (iii) is a fragment with at least 8 bp, from (i) or (ii); (3) method for detecting insects that carry resistance to organophosphorus and carbamate insecticides (X); (4) recombinant vector that contains (III); (5) cells that contain the vector of (4); (6) antibody (Ab) directed against (I) or (II); (7) reagent for method (3) comprising (III) or Ab; (8) transgenic invertebrate animal containing cells transformed with (III); (9) methods of screening for insecticides; (10) reagent for method (9) containing (I), vectors of (4), cells of (5) or animals of (8); (11) detecting or screening kit containing reagents of (7) or (10); and (12) method of screening for inhibitors of (I). ACTIVITY : Insecticide. No details of tests for insecticide activity are given. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Inhibition of acetylcholine esterases that are resistant to organophosphorus and carbamate insecticides.</p>
