A container for the safe transport of automobile body sections has two opposite sides (36, 38) each with two slotted supports (44, 46) on the inside faces with the slots angled to the vertical at less than 90 deg. The slots hold spacer rails (52) which are fitted between the stacked body sections and which are fitted with cushion pads (56). The topmost spacer rail is secured using separate locking wedges (58).
