A recycling process which is used to produce guitar plectrums from plastic cards, e.g. used telephone cards, comprises using a mobile unit. The latter has a cutting section, with interchangeable inserts for cutting different plectrum shapes, and a grinding unit for grinding the plectrums. A number of plectrums can be produced in a single step.
