The cage nut has a cage (4) which by its surface which has a through-opening fits over the radial projection of a nut (1) and is supported in point fashion by protrusions or knobs on the upper side of the projection from which protrudes a collar-like housing (3). Arms (8) protrude from the surface of the cage and fit over the edge of the radial projection with a clearance and under the underside of the projection. The arms in this region have point-type protrusions or knobs which are supported on the underside of the projection.
