BIOLOGICAL CONTACTOR USING MONO FILAMENT FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT

PURPOSE: Provided is a biological contactor being capable of reducing a size of a bio reactor by shortening hydraulic retention time of wastewater and increasing water treatment speed. CONSTITUTION: The biological contactor comprises a pair of supporting bars(2), a pair of springs(3) connected to the corresponding supporting bars(2), a pair of triangular members(4) coupled to the corresponding springs(3), and a fibrous material provided between the two triangular members(4), wherein the fibrous material is folded several times and is prepared by producing a mono filament made of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate or nylon and immobilizing microorganisms to the mono filament using polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, or cellulose acetate gel.
