PERIPHERAL INTERFACE DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PRIORITY THEREOF

PURPOSE: A peripheral interface device and a method for controlling priority thereof are provided to control a priority connected through more than two interface ports while supporting many kinds of interface modes. CONSTITUTION: The interface ports(602a-602n) receive the signals corresponding to the interface. Interface transformers(604a-604n) transform the signal of the corresponding interface into the signal corresponding to a hard disk by connecting to respective ports. A priority controlling part(616) distinguishes the interface mode connected by receiving the signals of each interface mode from the ports, and decides the priority between two interface modes if at least two interface modes are connected. A port selecting part(614) selectively operates the interface transformers according to a distinguish result of the priority controlling part. A connecting part(612) transmits and receives the signal corresponding to the hard disk by connecting to the interface transformers.
