An electron gun assembly for a cathode-ray tube or other electronic device (e.g. a high-speed wave recording tube or an image storage tube) having a glass envelope 11 comprises a removable cathode-grid assembly 13 having a plurality of glass stalks 14, a cathode, a grid 16 supported by the stalks, an electrode 17 supported by the stalks with a thread 18, and stem leads 19 to the outside, and an anode and focusing grid assembly 21 with glass stalks 22 supporting electrode 23 with thread 24 and anode 25 and focusing electrode 26 supported by the stalks and connected to a plurality of leads 27 led radially to the outside of the tube. The structure allows defective or worn cathode assemblies to be replaced after having been cut from the tube. |
