The standpipe fastening system has a one-piece pipe clamp (1) fastened to the upper side of the standpipe, and rearwards pointing clamp lugs (2) with a hole (3) to receive a clamping screw. A downwards pointing mounting plate (5) turned through 90 degrees is formed on one of the clamp lugs and has an elongated slot which is open at the bottom. The pipe clamp with the mounting plate is fitted by the elongated hole on a fastening screw and located between two nuts by which the mounting plate and pipe clamp are fastened.
