The ratchet (40) is assembled of a handle (42) with a head (41) comprising a large opening (411) for the accommodation of the circular insert (50), a smaller opening (412) for the c-shaped locking element (415), and the drive socket (60) as well a two securing rings (413, 414). The inner surface (52) of the insert (50) is provided with six ribs, each with a concave upper area (522) and a concave recess (523) between them. Both flanks (521) are plane. The outer surface of the drive socket (60), which is slightly tapered, matches the inner surface (52) of the insert (50). The drive socket (60) can be inserted into the insert (50) with either end (61, 62) as required.
