Disclosed is a securing device for locking an adjustable joining part, particularly an outer pipe of a steering column in a motor vehicle, comprising at least one bearing part (1) which is provided with at least one passage opening (la) for guiding a connecting part (3) that links at least two clamping parts (4, 7) to each other, said clamping parts (4, 7) being movable towards each other and clamping the joining part (2). The connecting part (3) and the clamping parts (4, 7) form a first clamping mechanism. The inventive securing device also comprises means for securing the first clamping mechanism (3, 4, 7). Said securing means encompass a second clamping mechanism (10, 11) which is located between the clamping parts (4, 7) of the first clamping mechanism and is coupled thereto. The second clamping mechanism is provided with at least one second bearing part (11) which comprises a passage opening (11a) that is at least congruent with the passage opening (1a) of the first bearing part (1) and a spindle (10) that is connected to the first clamping mechanism (3, 4, 7) via a clamping part (4) of the first clamping mechanism (3, 4, 7), said clamping part (4) being embodied as a spindle nut, such that both clamping mechanisms (3, 4, 7; 10, 11) can be detached or locked via the first clamping mechanism (3, 4, 7). |
