PURPOSE: An editing apparatus in a terminal using touch screen and a method thereof are provided to delete or edit the wanted text or image without memorizing a special editing process. CONSTITUTION: A system control unit judges whether a currently pressed area is a text area(201), and judges whether the currently pressed area is for selecting a specific area(203). If the pressed area is not a text are, the system control unit enters a routine for processing inputted key information(202). The system control unit enters an area moving routine(204). The system control unit counts the number of points of the pressed area(205). It is judged whether the currently pressed area has a two-dimensional area shape pressed by a finger or a point shape pressed by an electronic pen(206). In the case of the currently pressed two-dimensional area, the system control unit calculates coordinates of the currently pressed two-dimensional area(207). It is judged whether the two-dimensional area moves on a touch screen(208). It is checked whether the two-dimensional area moves from the right side to the left side(209). The system control unit removes text included in a set area(210). The system control unit sets up an operation state of a terminal as an input standby state(211). Otherwise, the system control unit sets up an area for editing except removal(212). If the two-dimensional area does not move on a touch screen, the system control unit moves a cursor on the touch screen to an area pressured by the current two-dimensional area(213). The system control unit executes editing in the existing method(214). The editing is terminated(215). |
