A color picture tube device in which a lens is generated in an area through which a plurality of electron beams pass, so as to be positioned, in a tube axis direction, between a phosphor screen and an end of a core nearest the electron gun. The lens has a horizontal focusing effect that focuses each of the electron beams in the horizontal scanning direction. Furthermore, an interval between at least the two outermost of the plurality of electron beams is adjusted, so that the interval at a time of the electron beams entering the lens widens as the degree of horizontal deflection by a horizontal deflection coil increases. <IMAGE>
