Door hinge for rotatably mounting a vehicle door on a chassis comprises a first hinge part (1) and a second hinge part (3) rotating relative to each other and a fixing device for inhibiting the rotational movement of the two hinge parts relative to each other so that rotation occurs only after application of a minimum force. The fixing device has a first stop surface (9) rotationally fixed to the first hinge part and a second stop surface (10) rotationally fixed to the second hinge part. The stop surfaces are pressed against each other by an elastic element (11). The two stop surfaces are covered by a traction device which increases the minimum force required for rotation of both hinge parts. Preferred Features: At least one of the stop surfaces is roughened to improve the action of the traction device. The elastic element is a helical spring.
