PURPOSE: A file system for a flash memory is provided to maintain the expected life of all blocks in a flash memory by equally using a whole memory area. CONSTITUTION: A meta block(310) stores all kinds of information of files. The meta block(310) stores names of the files, the sizes of the files, logical addresses of the files, in-use information of the meta block(310), and invalid information. A data block(320) stores actual data. The data block(320) is divided into partitions of regular sizes. Information of each block is stored at each detailed block of an information block(330). The information block(330) stores information related to the divided data block(320). The information block(330) stores position information of data block(320), use of the data block(320), and invalid information.
