[Also in Division C5] Novel metal dithiocarbamate salts having the general Formula I wherein R is C 8-22 alkyl, - R<SP>1</SP> is C 1-22 alkyl or hydrogen, M is a metal ion, n is 2 or 3 and x is 0-5 are prepared by reacting the appropriate amines or mixtures thereof with carbon disulphide in the presence of a metal salt or metal hydroxide preferably in an alkaline medium which may be aqueous or alcoholic. Other salts may be prepared by double decomposition from the sodium salt.</p> |
