<p>The invention provides use of a fuel composition comprising a gasoline base fuel and at least one additional component selected from the group consisting of (i) a diesel fuel ignition improver in a concentration of 0.05 to 1% v/v based on the fuel composition, (ii) a Fischer-Tropsch derived gas oil in a concentration of 1 to 20% v/v based on the fuel composition and (iii) a Fischer-Tropsch derived naphtha fuel in a concentration of 1 to 20% v/v based on the fuel composition for improved auto-ignition performance in a homogeneous charge compression ignition engine; fuel compositions perse; and a method of operating a HCCI internal combustion engine.</p> |
