A method for securing a music instrument onto a stand uses a spring loaded rapid fastening catch to replace the conventional threaded fastener. The catch is secured by the spring and includes elastic pads. The fitting is adjustable to suit the different instruments, and an be extended to take additional instruments, e.g. percussion instruments.
