<p>A pacifier (10) comprising a seat plate (1) forming a main body, a rubber nipple (2) inserted in a hole in the seat plate, a stop (3) engaged with the nipple to fix the latter in position, the stop (3) having a flange (14) and an insert section (3a) to be inserted in the rubber nipple (2), the insert section (3a) being composed of a side wall (12) and a cover-like flat plate (13), the flange (14) having placed thereon a soft film (4) having flexibility, the flat plate (13) being formed with a through-hole (13a), a first space (18) defined by the soft film (4) and insert section (3a) and communicating with the inside of the rubber nipple (2) through the through-hole (13a), a cap (5) installed to fix the outer edge (17) of the soft film (4), a second space (23) defined by the soft film (4) and cap (5) and communicating with the outside through a vent hole (22a) formed in the bottom plate (22) of the cap (5), the soft film (4) shutting off the first space (18) from the outside. This arrangement makes it possible to provide a pacifier capable of being sterilized by boiling and superior in sanitation and safety.</p> |
