The method involves using a grip cylinder (2) split into two halves and with profiled grip faces to clamp onto the drive belt. The outside of the grip cylinder is threaded to take a securing sleeve (4). The end of the belt is pulled through a securing wall (7), the grip cylinder halves are clamped in position and the threaded sleeve is adjusted via a knurled grip (13) until one end of the sleeve is braced against the wall. The belt does not have to be cut to length and is easily adjusted.
