Safety device for the handle bar (35) of a pushchair comprises a coupling bushing (41) displaceably held on the handle bar and having at least one notch (411) for hooking on a pin (36, 37) on a frame. The engaging/disengaging handle bar can be positioned in a position stabilized by the hooking process. The safety device also comprises a detent pawl (5) limiting the forward and backward movement of the coupling bushing to prevent release of the handle bar after unintentional displacement of the coupling bushing. An independent claim is also included for an alternative safety device.
