PURPOSE: A composition for prevention and treatment of gastritis and gastric ulcer is provided, which comprises extracts of Glycyrrhiza uralensis FISCH., Curcuma longa L. and Perilla frutescens BRITT. to inhibit the activity of a histamine receptor, and reduce the release of gastric acid. Therefore, the composition has prevention and treatment effects on gastritis and gastric ulcer. CONSTITUTION: A composition for prevention and treatment of gastritis and gastric ulcer is characterized by containing extracts of or crude extracts of Glycyrrhiza uralensis FISCH., Curcuma longa L. and Perilla frutescens BRITT., or their purified fractions in the amount of 0.5-50%, based on the total weight of the composition. The composition is applied to foods, medicaments and the like.
