<p>A masking material (11), characterized in that it comprises a plate (11A) comprising a polystyrene foam prepared at an expansion ratio of 5 to 100 and the sheet has straight grooves (12) being formed at predetermined positions on one or both surfaces thereof so as to partition the sheet into a plurality of unit blocks (11B). The masking material (11) comprising a polystyrene foam prepared at an above expansion ratio is capable of being fractured with a flat and straight fracture face (15), when it is bent and fractured along the groove (12), and thus, of forming an almost straight parting line of a coating film in a peripheral part of the portion protected by the masking material, when the coating is carried out through the protection thereby of a portion not to be surface-treated.</p> |
