The monitoring pipe comprises two pipe sections (10,12) of different diameters, with an intermediate section (14) between them. The pipe sections are made of a corrugated plastics tube. The intermediate section is formed integrally with the corrugated plastics tube sections. Flat-walled connection sections (16a,16b) are provided integrally at the ends.
