The system is especially useful in countries with hot climates where a glass roof (1) may trap much solar heat. Hot air moving towards the chimneys (2) may be further warmed by waste process heat. Each chimney contains a turbine (3) which extracts energy from the rising hot air. Cool air is drawn in at the sides of the building, providing ventilation.
