<p>The flat component for motor vehicle bodies in monocoque construction has an outer metal sheet (1) supported on an inner metal sheet over a large area by one or more preformed components (9-15) distributed over the surface of the outer metal sheet and locating between the outer and inner metal sheets. On account of the preformed components' distribution, material, geometry and/or connection to the outer and/or inner sheet, a deformation of the outer metal sheet in the event of a collision is weakened and diverted onto the inner metal sheet.</p> |
