In order to prevent any static electricity troubles of an electronic component, the surface resistivity of a surface layer of a container in contact with the electronic component is set to be relatively high, and a layer with the conductivity higher than the surface layer is laminated under it. The surface resistivity of the surface layer is set to be higher than that of the layer therebelow. In an electronic component packaging container having this configuration, static electricity charged in the electronic component is gradually discharged from the electronic component to the surface of the electronic component packaging container instead of discharging at once, which presumably prevents static electricity troubles. The surface layer is preferably formed of a material close to electrification series of the electronic component.
