Full parallax is used to provide in real time an image high in spatial resolution. Many prismatic mirrors (41) in an imaging optical system (21) that rotate at a constant cycle reflect rays of light from an object of shooting off their side surfaces. A camera, on receiving rays of light from the object of shooting reflected off the prismatic mirrors (41), picks up the image of the object of shooting. Many prismatic mirrors (51) in a display optical system (32) that rotate in the same phase and at the same cycle as those of the prismatic mirrors (41) reflect rays of light emitted from a projector and corresponding to the image of the object of shooting picked up by the camera. Users observe an image corresponding to rays of light reflected off the prismatic mirrors (51). The design of this invention is applicable to an imaging device to pick up images, and to a display unit to display images picked up by an imaging device.
