An identification document such as a credit card 10 includes an aperture 11 within which is located a microfilm 12 bearing matter such as a photograph 13, a signature 15 and physical data 14 too small for viewing without enlargement, the microfilm 12 being protected on both sides by transparent material. The card 10 may be formed of two laminations (10A, 10B), Fig. 2, not shown, the microfilm being anchored therebetween. The microfilm may be viewed by a portable viewer (Fig. 3, not shown) or a desk size viewer (Fig. 4, not shown) which may incorporate a keyboard (20d), Fig. 5, not shown, connected to accounting means such as an on-line computer. |
