<p>A fire barrier (6), which is arranged adjacent to a window opening (3) formed in a vertical wall (2), consists of a sheet-metal element (6). The sheet-metal element (6) is at one side edge pivotally suspended above the window opening about an essentially horizontal axis (5) and is pivotable between an essentially vertical shielding position, in which it at least partially covers the window opening (3), and an essentially horizontal initial position, in which it is kept by a heat and/or smoke detecting releasing means (9). Said means (9) is adapted to release the sheet-metal element (6) in the event of a fire, so that the latter swings down by its own weight to the essentially vertical shielding position.</p> |
