摘要 PURPOSE: A method for calculating the capacity of an optical communication ring is provided to disperse a traffic in a SONET(Synchronous Optical Network) and reduce the entire network resource use quantity by more quickly obtaining an optimal solution of RLPW(Ring Loading Problem With demand splitting). CONSTITUTION: Information of communication demand predicted with respect to each link and a source and target node pair of a ring network is read from a memory device. A clockwise maximum link capacity and a counter-clockwise maximum link capacity are calculated with respect to a node pair with the first rerouting sequence among node pairs connected to a source node. If the clockwise maximum link capacity is greater than the counter-clockwise maximum link capacity, the counter-clockwise maximum link capacity is subtracted from the clockwise maximum link capacity and the subtracted value is divided by 2. The divided vale is compared with a link capacity value of a corresponding node pair, and the small value is recorded as a value of a target node of the corresponding node pair. The recorded value of the target node is subtracted from the clockwise maximum link capacity, and the clockwise maximum link capacity is updated. The recorded value of the target node is added to the counter-clockwise maximum link capacity, and the recorded value of the target node is subtracted from a link capacity corresponding to a target node of a node pair of a next re-routing sequence. The added value is compared with the subtracted value, and the great value is updated as the counter-clockwise maximum link capacity. If the updated clockwise maximum link capacity is identical to the updated counter-clockwise maximum link capacity, a re-routing calculation process is ended. Each link capacity of the ring network is calculated again on the basis of a re-routing start node pair(10) and a re-routing end node pair(20).
