Granulation of calcium nitrate for fertilisers

Calcium nitrate solution and solid are granulated between rotating spiral vanes in a close fitting assembly, to obtain a required fertiliser. The granulating mixer is of parallelepipedic shape, its edges formed normally by section lines between walls and bottom, replaced, at least partly, by bent surfaces. The mier has inlets for pressure air or steam and openings for admixture of solids. The bottom on the lower parts of the walls have discharge openings. Two shafts with spiral vanes run through the mixer in longitudinal direction.
