The material (10) is dosed into a compartment (26) which is open on two or three sides as it travels through the material storage device (7) and these sides are closed once it leaves this device and enters a groove between fixed side walls (31). The material is dosed in portions from the bottom side of a storage device into a compartment moving around a closed path. An Independent claim is also included for a portioning device.
