FIELD: power engineering; childproof gas lighters. SUBSTANCE: proposed childproof gas lighter has gas ignition unit including gear wheel fitted on shaft mounted rotatably in holes of body brackets, flint which is spring-loaded towards gear wheel, bearing wheels fitted on shaft on sides of gear wheel; bearing wheels are rigidly connected with shaft; one bearing wheel is made integral with shaft and other bearing wheel is heavy-force fit on this shaft; diameter of shaft on section between bearing wheels exceeds diameter of end sections received by holes of body brackets. Diameter of central hole of bearing wheel secured on shaft is equal to diameter of this shaft on section between bearing wheels or diameter of end section of this shaft. Central hole of bearing wheel secured on shaft is stepped in form; diameter of first step of central hole is equal to diameter of shaft on section between bearing wheels and diameter of second step of central hole is equal to diameter of end section of this shaft.
