FIELD: pressure equipment for pumping molten metal. SUBSTANCE: magnetohydrodynamic pump that can be used for removing aluminum and its alloys (AlZn, AlSi) from steel strip coating unit bath has metal housing with flat working channel formed by its inner walls and traveling-wave inductors. Each inner wall is built of three layers of which intermediate one is covered with insulating material and inserted in electric circuit in series with power supply, working channel leaks warning device, and housing.
