Deposition by spraying, notably thermal spraying, of a coating (1) on a degradable substrate (2) with degradable materials (3) comprises: (a) using a degradable substrate incorporating, close to its surface (4), some priming particles (5) forming starting sites for the coating; (b) eliminating, at least partially, the degradable material at the surface of the degradable substrate, in a manner to disengage the priming particles forming the starting sites; (c) spraying the coating particles onto the surface of the degradable substrate, such that the priming particles stop the penetration of the coating particles into the degradable substrate with the coating particles adhering to the priming particles and at least partially coating them. An Independent claim is also included for a device for the thermal spraying of a coating on a degradable substrate.
