Method for configuration of an automation and or control network comprising at least one command transmitter with a memory and a first type of elements and at least one command receiver and a second type of elements has the following steps: selection of an element of the first type; configuration of the element and storage of related data; selection of an element of the second type; transmission of data from the first element type and its use in configuring the second element type; and storage of data relating to the second element type. The invention also relates to a corresponding installation.
