IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO MEDICAL DEVICES

An integral unit for use in the electrical stimulation of a human or animal body, particularly for preventing circulatory conditions is described. It comprises one or more electrodes integrated with a bandage housing, the housing being adapted to locate and secure the unit on a selected portion of the human or animal body. Also described is a detachable electrode strip for use with an electrical stimulation unit. It comprises a sheet having at least one electrode pad, at least one terminal point and at least one connecting conductor which connects the at least one electrode pad to the at least one terminal point. The unit and strip are preferably disposable, which therefore provides advantages with regard to sterility, as well as ease of use. The present invention provides a clean and efficient system for DVT and similar apparatus.
