BANDSAW WITH TWISTABLE SAW BAND

A bandsaw having a continuous saw blade driven in an endless elongate loop between two support members (12), such that an elongate length (16) of said loop extending between the support wheels (12) provides an operative longitudinally extending cutting blade (18) having an elongate axis (A) which passes through a work surface (20) supported perpendicular to the cutting blade (18), in which the bandsaw comprises a blade guide member (30) mounted on the work surface (20) for effecting angular displacement of the cutting blade (18) about its axis (A) as it is supported by such guide member (30), the guide member preferably being rotatably adjustable. There is also provided a method of varying the cutting capacity of a bandsaw of this type by effecting angular displacement of the cutting blade (18) about its axis (A) in the region of the work surface (20) and subsequently restraining the blade (18) in this angularly displaced position.
