<p>In a magnetic fluid-seal rotation shaft mechanism, a single projection (3) or annular projections (3) that are arranged in the axial direction of a rotation shaft (1) formed from a magnetic body are projectingly provided from the outer periphery of the rotation shaft (1) toward the inner periphery of the bearing (2). A magnetic field concentrates between the projection and the inner peripheral face of the bearing. Magnetic fluid (4) is magnetically retained and sealed between gaps in the regions of the concentration. In the magnetic fluid-seal rotation shaft mechanism, the cross sectional outline of the projection is a part of an oval or a part of a curve close to an oval. The mechanism has low rotation resistance during the rotation and small rotation starting torque.</p> |
