<p>The invention provides a method for the detection of a polymorphism in GPR50 in a human. The invention also provides use of GPR50 polymorphism in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in which modulation of GPR50 activity could be of therapeutic benefit, particularly disease states associated with the regulation of metabolism such as obesity, non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM), insulin resistance syndrome, dyslipidemia and atherosclerosis.</p> |
