<p>Apparatus (38) and associated method for generating a TVMAR (traffic volume measurement and reporting) report, or other appropirate report, to facilitate packet scheduling in a packet-based communication system (10). As signal is generated at a network part (14) of a radio communication system indiciative of parameters that the mobile station (12) is to include in the TVMAR report, subsequently to be generated by the mobile station (12). The signal is generated by a signal generator (42) and sent to the mobile station (12) to be detected thereat by a detector (54). The communication indicia is measured by a measurer (12) and the measured values of the selected parameters are fomred into a TVMAR report and returned to the network part (14).</p> |
